Is Your Child Struggling With Reading?

As a parent, you know when something isn't quite right with your child. After all, you know them better than anyone else in the world. You might not know exactly what the issue is, but you are concerned that your child is struggling as a reader. Here is a helpful list of signs of a struggling reader by age range.

Things to Remember

  • Every child learns and grows at different rates.

  • There are no hard and fast rules.

  • Talk to your child's teacher.

  • Early intervention is the most effective, so seek help if you are concerned.

Are You Concerned About Your Child?

If you are at all concerned about your child, our advice is to seek help sooner rather than later. The statistics on struggling readers and illiteracy are appalling and we do not want that for your child. On top of that, research has proven that the earlier intervention begins, the more impactful it is.

Setting your child on the right literacy path will prevent a lack of confidence, anxiety, and feelings of frustration that can come with being asked to do something on a daily basis, like reading, that you know is just really hard for you.
